Tuesday's Our Busiest Day - No Wrenches Allowed

Today at 3:00 when my youngest son, Ethan got into the car he was super duper excited about the fact that he might win a Nintendo DS at the Bingo Bash tonight....

At that very moment I was still trying to figure out how I was going to be able to get groceries for the week, make it back to the house in time to get Miss Maddy ready for Baby Tap and the boys ready for Soccer...all the while vague thoughts of dinner were dancing around my head.

To be honest I had no idea about the Bingo Bash...turns out Hubby had seen the note but thrown it out since there are no room for wrenches in our Tuesday nights.

As I listened to this cute 6 year old gush about how lame he thought Bingo was until he found out about all the prizes that could be won. How he was going to meet his friend Val - and sit with him. I knew in that moment that there was no way I could say no.

So we shuffled...and split up. We made time for the little boy who is such a good sport 2 nights a week for his brothers and sister.

While he didn't win a Nintendo DS - he did win a prize.

He won...wait for it...a gift certificate to his Grandpa's restaurant. The one that we eat at for free already. We asked them to put it back into rotation and I am going to figure out some prize for this sweet little boy. He showed me tonight that even when you know that there is no possible way to make time for one more thing...you can.

  3. That is SO sweet! I have one that always feels left out of the shuffle on certain nights of the week. Really thinking hard on how to add something in for them to do too.

I think it was really nice that he put that gift card back into rotation. Hehe... Poor guy! No prizes, but looks like he had fun!

    Take care!

  5. Too funny... wins his own family's donation. This was us last Wednesday when my kids really really wanted to attend Science night at school... so not in my plans, but we managed!

  6. Oh, that poor kid. I mean, so awesome that you guys got to go play Bingo together, but such a bummer he didn't get that DS! Glad you were able to fit an evening in to spend with him. I know it's so hard with multiple kids!

  8. I understand the crazy busy night and no room for wrenches. However, as moms, we see the need to make an adjustment for those special moments.

I love how excited he was to play and how he thought to put the prize back for someone else to win. Sometimes being lucky is enough, even if you can't use the prize.
