Monday Mingle

This week’s questions {week of 3/7/11}:

1. Where do you think you’ll be/what you’ll be doing in 10 years?

2. You are ordering a hamburger at a restaurant (or veggie burger :) – how do you have it cooked, what type of cheese and what else goes on it?

3. What are the current gas prices like where you live?

  2. Congrats on the manicures! And I'm not quite in the taxi stage yet, although I'm sure life will get crazy soon enough! :) Good luck with that, and thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  4. i too suffer from the mom has no time to cook syndrome. we eat a lot of stuff from the crockpot. you can basically use your crockpot as your oven. all you have to do is not use as much liquid. so think of everything you bake in the oven. write it down. now think of all your sides. cook them in the microwave. and you're good to go! hope this helps!

  5. This seems pretty cool.

    1) 10 yrs from now, I have no clue. I'm in the process of completing a 5yr goal (new job), so a new one will be set soon.

    2) Well done, steaks I do medium-well, but my burgers have to be well done for some reason. My cheese would be American and there'd be nothing else besides ketchup and mustard. I'm plain.

3)Gas prices SUCK!!! Currently sitting at about $3.70/gallon for premium. Not looking forward to driving ANYWHERE.

haha at you thinking of your kids 10yrs from now.

  6. I'll pray for you but only if you do likewise. I will have 3 teens. I send back pink too. Gas is ridiculous! It is only going to go up I think. Have a great week!

  7. I think it's a really good idea to get a manicure each week. Especially if you're a waitress AND a mom, taking 30 minutes out of your week to have someone else take care of you is really important.

Essie's Spring 2011 Line (called 'French Affair') has some really fun nail polish colors. Maybe try "Nice is Nice" or "Coat Azure". They look like super fun colors.

    Have a great week!

  8. I love your video. I wish I wasn't so chiken and could do one. But, I'm a big fat chiken!!!! A nice place to find recipes is http://allrecipes.com/. I do have a tried and true on for you though. I made it last night. Isn't that funny! I call it bar-b-q ribs in the slow cooker. (I don't use ribs though, they are too expensive. I use a rost that I cut up into strips.)

I brown the outside of my beef on the stove top then put it in the slow cooker. (I don't know if you have to do that, you can prob. skip it. Hubby likes me to do it this way.) Then in a bowl mix a 26-30 oz can of tomato sauce with 1/3 cup of brown sugar, 2 tbs vinegar, 1 tbs worcestershire sauce, 1 tbs chili powder, 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper. I add a little more or less of some of those as the mood strikes me. We like ours hot, so I add way more cayenne pepper.

Then pour the mix over the beef in the slow cooker and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or on low for 6 to 8 hours. It really depends on your slow cooker and how much meat you have in it. You can also use this sauce mix for bar-b-q pizza later if you have some left.

Let me know if you try this and how you like it!
