Aloha Friday # 30



Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My Question:
Do you check your bulk e-mail or just delete it?


I have found quite a few interesting things in my SPAM e-mail box all mixed up with all those crazy offers to make everything better, bustier, longer, and thinner. To the left of the announcement that my e-mail has been drawn for some mysterious Lotto was a great pitch from a well known company.

Under the blueberry giant (that spam ad works I totally want 4 pints of blueberries every day!!) and below the power wheelchair (got to keep that one in mind for way later in life) was a great e-mail that I won another giveaway. So I am just wondering....do you check your spam folder or just delete it?

  4. I rarely ever even look at it, it auto deletes after 10 days I think.

  7. I skim it since I do a lot of contests and giveaways but I've been known to mass delete when I get overwhelmed.

  12. I usually just delete it... I have two email accounts. One is for the random times I have to enter in an email and the other is my primary account, so I only get bulk mail in one account (the one that doesn't matter).

  13. I check it every other day, every now and then I find something that shouldn't have been marked spam.

  15. I look at the mail that comes into my spam box quickly. Not usually a lot in there most of the time.

  17. I learned the hard way to check the Spam box - missed a writing assignment that had been sitting there for nearly a month.

    Plus, from time to time - my Spam box picks up Feedburner Confirmations, Giveaway win announcements, and Confirmation links for new websites I've joined.

    I unfortunately have to check it everyday or I will miss out on valuable information or correspondences.

  18. I check every few days and mass delete. For whatever reason, things will randomly end up there even if I've been receiving them fine for months. Magazine freebies end up in there all the time, no matter how hard I try to make them not.
