Curious Chef Review and Giveaway



There are so many things that you can do with a child to teach them that they have value...but my favorite thing to do with my kids - is to cook. There are so many lessons that you can pass to them through cooking from math skills to food safety. It's important to me that my kids leave my home with enough knowledge to take care of their own families. It's also a great way to get some one on one time with one busy Mama of 4.

Thanks to Curious Chef, I got a chance to share a great night with my son Avery! We were sent an 8 piece cutlery and serving set to review and had a ton of fun in the kitchen.

Kids always want to help in the kitchen – now they can slice, dice, chop, and cut with our safe, plastic knives. It does not stop there; this add‐on set includes an assortment of serving utensils.




I have to say that my kids were fascinated by the knives that were included...I can't blame them either. They are not usually allowed to touch anything sharper than a butter knife. Imagine their shock and delight when Mom says...these are made for you to use!

I will say this though - while they are made for children...you still have to teach them to use them. I spent quite a bit of the night in question saying over and over...tuck your fingers in and you finger is right under the blade.

I couldn't believe how well this knife could really cut. It was awesome! Avery said over and over - I am so glad that it cuts so that you aren't taking it away to do it for me.

The cutting board that was included was the perfect match too! I thought upon seeing it for the first time that it would be to small...but it's just the right size for little hands.

One of the things that really worried me about this entire set -- was the bright white color...with 4 kids - I know how fast bright white can turn into dingy and stain filled.

I can rest assured though - everything rinsed off beautifully!




This is one of the many reason's that you should take your kids into the kitchen - they are so much more willing to try things if they are involved in the cooking process.

While taking the stems off of mushroom for Vegetable Kabob's - Avery and his brother tasted raw mushroom's for the first time...I had to shoo their hands away many times - they were going to eat them all before we could get them on the skewers!!

I love love love the handles on all of the products that we were sent...they are designed with children in mind. The grooves were the perfect place to rest a finger or thumb for better pressure and control management.

Both of which are very important for a novice chopper.


I was so excited to sit down with Avery and the rest of our family for dinner. He was so excited to tell everyone what the secret ingredient was for making the veggies so yummy. They were all surprised to hear that it was Italian dressing, but I know in my heart it was love. :)


Thanks so much to Curious Chef for sending our family the products to test...I can't wait to get some of the other kid's into the kitchen so that they too can cook up something yummy for their family.
