Aloha Friday #23

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link Here.

My Question:

Do you do Spring Cleaning? If so, when do you start?

I got an early jump on spring cleaning last night...I found these fabulous glass jar's @ an antique store yesterday and wanted to use them for my salt, sugar, coffee & flour.

$6.00 for 2 jars, lids and shelf.

$10.00 for green. $8.00 for yellow.
Wonder why green was more expensive.

Which led to cleaning the kitchen counter tops, stove, and cabinets out.

(anyone have a good tip for cutting through grease on stove top?)

Still looks a little cluttered...but I use all of it.

Try not to notice the white stuff on my cookie jar...it's from an antique store too...it was used to hold candles....apple cinnamon to be exact...and while vinegar and lemons took the smell out of the glass jar...

The lid now looks like that and still smells like a candle...and makes the cookies I put in smell like them too.

Aloha.

  1. I LOVE your kitchen. It's gorgeous!

Okay. Spring cleaning. I was going to do it this weekend. We are now having company. So next week Leo is off--I'm totally starting on Monday.

  2. I have that itch to start Spring Cleaning!! I think it's because we have had so much snow that I am in denial that spring is still quite a bit away!!

I don't think I ever did a "real" Spring Cleaning, though. So this year I am putting together a list of all that needs to be done and a list of projects around the house that I want completed in time for summer!!

  6. I am starting now--when the days are nice I work out in the yard, my next chore is to tackle my garage, and then i can sort out the rest of the house. I see a Yard Sale in my future.

  7. What a gorgeous kitchen! I do not usually do Spring Cleaning. This year as part of my commitments for Lent I committed to getting rid of 40 bags of things I do not need so that is sort of like Spring Cleaning, right?

  8. I don't even do it, which is probably why it was such a pain to clean the house for sale!!!

  13. I am constantly moving things around on my countertops...I'm like you...I use it all! It's hard to keep them decluttered. Oh well..I guess you have to live in your home, don't you?! :) I have already started spring cleaning...with the first ray of sunshine!

Also, I LOVE Mr. Clean magic erasers for cleaning my stovetop...I haven't found anything that works as well. (I have tried the generic brands and they just don't cut it like Mr. Clean.)

    Take care! :)
