My Six Words:
Just as Fun as I Remember!!
The kids got DS's for Christmas and they are loving them! Hubby rented a few new games (including Super Mario Brothers) and now I am having a ton of fun too. It's just as fun as I remember it being as a kid. While it's a little different from the original -- there are different sized mushrooms...one that makes you a giant and one that makes you a teeny tiny little thing....but it's the same sound effects and mostly the same game. One big Plus is that it saves your extras...say you already have flower power...find another flower...it saves it for you -- so when you need it-- you can use it!!
My kids are thinking that I am a rock star with the games too -- which is pretty cool. I had to explain to them that I got quite a lot of practice at this game when I was their age.
I have to be careful while playing around the kids though-- this is the only game that makes me want to curse...lol. I hate to die on the easy parts!! You know when you are first starting out in a level and you mis judge a jump or try to go back once you have jumped and fall between!! Or jump right into the face of oncoming villans? It sucks!!
Ok I want to talk about the myth of jumping over the flag pole too...Hubby and I were talking about this the other day and we thought that it was a bunch of baloney!
BUT I DID IT kinda
I was on the other side of the flag pole sliding down at the end of one of the levels...you would have thought that I won the lottery -- I was so excited!! LOL...I'm a dork I know this...but at least I have a dork Hubby too...we were taking turns playing after the kids went to sleep last night.
I am hoping that Family Video will have Super Mario Brothers for the Wii instock soon. Although I am not sure that it will be that easy to play since the Nintendo DS is set up just like the old Nintendo Controllers.
Have any of you played this game? Are you a little addicted too?

ReplyDeleteFound you from SITS and became a follower! I want to increase my followers so would love for you to follow me if you would like!!! HAppy New YEar!
I never was good a Super Mario Bros. I like to play things like Zelda and what not. I got a DS a couple years ago, mainly to play brain age and now I barely mess with it since there is so much else I have to do (and want to do). Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww...you're just a kid at heart! I love it!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I haven't played that game, but did play the Mario Kart Wii game at my sister's recently, which I've also heard is addicting. It was fun, but I doubt I'd get addicted.
ReplyDeleteWe did get a Wii this year as our family gift, though and we're having tons of fun with it. So far we have been playing mostly sports games, but we all have lots of fun together.
I plan on getting a couple of Dora & Diego games soon so that my youngest two can participate more. And I bought Big Brain Academy for family game night...hoping to exercise my tired grey matter a little ;P
How cool that you've still got it :P
Fun! My kids think I rock on Frogger.. i can't play most new video games though because I get motion sick! Pathetic, I know.
ReplyDeletegrew up on video games but I can remember the atari and then how they grew
ReplyDeleteSo cool! We just recently dug out our classic Nintendo. We had to buy a part to get it to work, and I felt like I was five again! {It still is kinda strange to me that I have been playing a Mario game that was released the year I was born, but whatever. haha} I just love playing it because it takes me back to those days sitting in the floor for hours with my older sister. I always thought she was amazing winning all the time. (& I do remember her going over the flag pole!) My nephews and niece watched me play it the other day, and they were just going on about how awesome and great I was at the game! haha
ReplyDeleteI love most Mario games...Mario Party for the Wii is one of my favorites right now! :)
ReplyDeleteHa! We got Wii for Christmas and the boys have been astounded at my abilities at Super Mario World LOL. We just got Mario Party and I'm loving that too.
ReplyDeleteI love Super Mario...and it is VERY addictive!!

I used to play Super Mario too. Have to admit it's kinda addictive. I don't let my kids play with it now though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. :)
Wait, were the games for you or the kids? ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing 6WS!
