Are you entering blog giveaway's? I tell you there is nothing better!! I love them! You can't win if you don't enter!!

What I bought this Week

I am doing the Meal Planning Assignments from The Happy Housewife and wanted to keep track of my spending to see if I could reduce my monthly Wal-mart/Walgreen's/Staples bills. This is what I got from Wal-mart:

That stick? Oh that's a replacement broom...my youngest boy E broke the last one by standing on it!!

Not sure if you can see...but I got a Swiffer Wet Jet...going to give it a try...got my free refills.

I spent a total of $295.00 at Wal-mart for 2 weeks of groceries. I have to return 2 things. I bought dishwasher soap instead of dish washing soap and some strawberries that are a little to slimy for my taste. Plus the Cashier missed a $2.00 coupon for the bacon that I bought. I also forgot to get pizza dough and diet coke. See this is why my grocery bill is so high. I have to go to Wal-mart all the time. But this is going to be my last time in those doors for a week...then have to get milk and produce.
After I take care of these items and grab some kid's shampoo and the trash bags that I missed I will post a new total for this. I am going for $400.00 a month on groceries.

This is what I bought at Walgreen's:

I spent $11.98 oop and got back $8.00 in rr for next week. I used coupons/rr's/and my staples rebate visa for $5.48. Got $2.00 Walgreen's gift card (reach rr deal was still posted) that I used also! My goal for Walgreen's is $15.00 a week

I also have a picture of my food waste...it is gross and so wasteful. But I throw out about this much (sometimes more) every week.

So I am starting my meal plan tomorrow and going to be doing a food waste post on Friday! I follow The Frugal girl every week think that is amazing how little waste she has!

Total spent for September: $306.98
Total left in budget? $153.02

Plan: I am going to be watching the sales flyer's and trying to buy what is one sale. I am going to try and match up coupons to those sales if I can. I am going to be cooking every night to get rid of eating out(which is costing my family a ton!!) I am going to try and use every bit of what I have purchased instead of letting it go to waste.

Any tips? Suggestions? I could use them. I have been spending like this for far to long!!

Friend Makin Monday #3

Welcome back for another week of Friend Makin Monday!!

If you would like to participate do a post about your favorite things about Fall, then CLICK HERE to join in the fun!!
This week's prompt:

What are some of your favorite things about fall?

I love love love fall...I love wearing jeans and jackets, making soups and stoups, thanksgiving, shopping for the holidays and I love love love the fall weather...cool and crisp.

Jackets and Jeans!!

How Cute is this from All You website?

Two of my favorite fall dishes

Turkey Chili This is not the same recipe that I use but it is still Rachael Ray...Random Fact about ME-- Rachael Ray taught me to cook with 30 min meals...I mean how to chop, cook, and improvise!! I love this lady. If you ever need a gift for a wedding I would suggest a set of her cookbooks or dvd's!

Stoup definition?

"Thicker than a soup, thinner than a stew." Rachael Ray

Spaghetti and Meatball Stoup ( this is one that you have got to try!!)

I made Thanksgiving dinner for the first time last year. I mean everything...not the corn or sweet potatoes, (which is what I am usually asked to make.) I mean turkey, dressing, rolls and all the sides and desserts...beside the slightly burned pie crust (I know now to cover with foil except for the last 10 min) I think everything turned out pretty good.

I really enjoy this time of the year...there are so many sales!! This quote is from a new blog that I am following...Click on the quote to check it out! She is doing a McLinky called Weigh In Wednesday (in case you need some support losing a few lbs) LOL. I joined last week.

Shopping is a woman thing. It's a contact sport like football.
Women enjoy the scrimmage, the noisy crowds, the danger of being trampled to death, and the ecstasy of the purchase.

~ Erma Bombeck

Fall is my favorite of all seasons...it's not to hot....not to cold...just right for getting outside! The trees start to change and the pumpkins that are growing beside my drive way have started to sprout flowers! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

I won another Giveaway!!

Thanks to Confessions of a Psychotic Housewife for hosting this giveaway. I won a t-shirt from Pigtail Pals Designs...they are redefining girly!! I love these t-shirts and can't wait to get the scientist t-shirt that I picked out for Mrs. M!!

Quotable Sunday #3

Mothers Day Gift Ideas

From A Daily Dose of Toni:

Welcome to Quotable Sunday's for any newbies. To join in simply, head over to your blog and post a new post with one or more quotes you love. Grab your posts link and add it to the Mr. Linky below. Check back and visit those fellow quoter's and see the quotes they are sharing with us.

My quotes this week are about perseverance. My husband and I have been trying to buy the house that we live in. We made a lot of mistakes with out credit and have tried so hard over the last couple of years to try and make it right. We thought that we had and were just turned down for a loan. Instead of giving up and saying that's that. We are going to Keep Calm and Move On. We will be trying again in 3 months.

Warning: There are a lot of quotes...but I need all the inspiration I can get!

My house suffers because from bloggeritis!

I know that's not a real word. But it is a real thing in my house. My house is starting to suffer since I found the world of blogs. I am going to take tomorrow off and get this place in order. You won't catch me at this computer til my house is in top shape. Company ready if you will. I might just invite some company over too!! Not that I don't love all you blogging friends out there but I think it's time to venture out into the real world again...don't worry though -- you know that I will be right back here...hungrily checking my e-mail and comment moderation page as if it holds a Thanksgiving turkey and I haven't eaten in weeks! I know that the Thanksgiving turkey is kind of a weird reference in September...but I have already started buying Christmas presents and the holiday's are on my mind! Thanks for stopping by!!

All that's necessary to participate is to post your own six words. You can post an explanation if you wish but it's certainly not required. If you play along in your blog, please add a link here!!

Aloha Friday # 3

From Kailani at An Island Life: In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So on Fridays let's take it easy on posting, too. Ask a simple question...nothing that requires a lengthy response. It’s a great way to make new blogging friends!

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link here! Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

I think that this is a great idea and it's such a nice way to find new blogs to follow and make blogging friends.

What's the best thing thing that you have won from a blog giveaway?

My first item was the best! I am not sure if it was just because it was the first or if it is because Miss M loves it so much!! Here she is with our winnings! Thanks Free Sample Freak!! The bad thing about this tot clock that does story time...is that it goes through batteries very quickly. Miss M has gotten so accustomed to listening to it as a part of her bed time routine that she gets really upset when the batteries are to low to run it. Like tonight, thank goodness Greg was there to read "Alice the Fairy." If you have a young daughter check out this book...We love it!!

Thanks so much for stopping by...check out my giveaway...you can win if you don't enter!

MckLinky Blog Hop

Throwback Thursday

Kell over @ Unnecessary Drama posted this on her blog. I thought that I would give it a try.

* Throwback Thursday *
Name a moment from your childhood that you, to this day, can recall like it just happened yesterday. We all have them - so whether it's funny, embarrassing, touching, or unbelievable .. SPILL!

I can still remember being forced to smoke cigarette after cigarette after being caught smoking by Grandma Jean. I thought that this was really cool at first...now I can do it without having to hide. I still to this day remember the thinking right before I puked that I would never do this again! Had to do this again when I was 16 or 17 when caught by my parents. Thought the same thing then too! I would not recommend this as a way to get kids to stop smoking. I had it done to me twice and still smoked after. I think that you have to teach kids to say no. Once you start it is so hard to quit. I spent all of my adult life thinking that I wanted to smoke, only now finding out that I addicted. Now before you start with the comments about why I should stop, I know why. I am trying. I stopped for a month a couple of months ago. I am thinking about trying again but not telling anyone. The pressure was hard to deal with. Everyone asking about it. I did the patches before and these combined with gum were great at getting through cravings.

If you want to join in the McLinky fun...post about a childhood memory and link up here!!

Writer's Workshop

Mama Kat has this "Writer's Workshop" theme each Thursday. I thought that I would give this a try.

So you choose a prompt, write, and then link up here

Here are the prompts to choose from:

The Prompts:

1.) Write about a time when you were wrongly wronged.
(inspired by myself.)

2.) Geriatric peeping Tom neighbors? Do tell.

3.) Mommy play dates? What's your experience with mom dating?

4.) The first day of...

5.) Share your friendly advice for someone you think needs it (ie your mother-in-law, other drivers, cell phone users, etc.)

I am going to choose #5!

I have some friendly advice from me your waitress. These are just a few tips to make your dining experience all the more pleasant for both of us.

#1 Please do not snap your fingers at us...we are not dogs but we do bristle like them if you do this.

#2 Please do call us Flo, Alice, Babe, Darlin or Hey You!

#3 Please do not get angry when you ask for more lemon and we bring you one more when you wanted 7. We know you are making your own lemonade and think you should order it from the menu.

#4 Please don't change you order once it has been given to the kitchen. It is a big deal (it's wasted food) (it will cause the kitchen crew to get angry with us) (this includes saying as we are putting the food on your table "There are any ? in this right?)

#5 While it is our job to wait tables - this does not include being a messenger to other tables, watching your kids to make sure they are not bothering others, and singing Happy Birthday ( this is not the policy of most restaurants.)

#6 Please do not give your baby crackers and then dismiss them. It sucks to clean this up.

#7 Please do not use your cell phone when you first sit down, i.e. when it is time to order drinks and food. While you can order while holding your hand over the phone, you usually get angry if we have questions about your order.

#8. Please don't be rude. Even if you are a regular customer we are human and do make mistakes. This includes but is not limited to sighing when we interupt to fill drinks, talking to us as if we are stupid, ignoring us completely, getting upset if we don't know what your regular order is, leaving a huge mess on table and floor but no tip, being rude about food being delivered before yours and dissing the food that your ordered.

#9. If you come in with a large group, you will take your waitress away from other tables, please tip accordingly. There is no way to avoid this as it takes more time to fill 8 drinks as it does to fill 2. It takes more time to pass out 8 dishes than it does to pass out 2. We will be at your table more than others in our section. While waiting on your table even the most experienced waitress might have a hard time giving all their tables more service.

#10. Please compliment a good server. This job can be very thankless at times. If you have an extraordinary waitress...say so.

#11 I was only going to do 10...but thought of another...Please place your glass near the edge of table when refill is needed. There is no need to shake the ice, slurp when empty, or raise your glass above your head most of the time. We are usually doing something equally as important and know you need a refill.

Thanks ya'll!! We'll see ya next time!!

I was hoping by saying please before each item of my list -- this would seem more friendly. :)

Late night Walgreen's Run

After watching my stories (i.e. Jon and Kate Plus 8 (makes me sad now & almost seems like an invasion of privacy to watch) and 18 kids and counting(very inspirational--gotta love the Duggar's!)(I love parentheses can you tell?)) I was getting my coupons together for a Walgreen's trip tomorrow and realized that I had $5.00 worth of Register Rewards that expired today!! So I ran to Walgreen's with no coupons! :( I had no choice...still got a pretty sweet deal though. All of this for

2 natural Skippy peanut butter
1 Reach Total care toothbrush
1 Rembrandt Toothpaste
1 Carefree panty liners
1 pencil (my filler item of choice!)

$4.12 oop!
used $10.00 in register rewards and 2 $2.00 skippy coupons.

Would have been a little less, but I had 2 $2.00 catalina coupons from Walgreen's that wouldn't work (said item not sold when clearly it was) So cashier price modified for each peanut butter to $1.29. Should have been $1.00. But the best part? I got $9.00 in Register Rewards back!! I love Walgreen's.

Now you may be asking yourself why is their $10.00 in the picture. I found this while searching for coupons! Can you believe that? What kind of state must my coupons be in to have lost that kind of money in there?

I am going to spend some time clipping, sorting, and getting these in order tomorrow.

Weigh-In Wednesday

I am going to participate in Life as a CEO's Weigh-In Wednesday. Click on the image above to take a blog button and participate!!

From her site:

Today I am kicking off Weigh- In Wednesday and I hope you'll join me. Do you have some weight you'd like to lose? Maybe the last 10-15 pounds from your last pregnancy? Or just a few extra you packed on this summer? Let's be each others inspiration.

If you are a blogger, grab my Weigh-In Wednesday button and blog about your new efforts every Wednesday. I will have a challenge for each week - such as to post your favorite diet-friendly recipe, or snack tip. Each week, you can let your readers and myself know how many pounds you are down (don't worry, no need to disclose your starting off weight!), too.

If you are not a blogger, simply post a comment every Wednesday under my post to let me know how you are doing, and to share in the challenge for the week, too.

My Weigh in Wednesday Update #1

I have recently lost 15-20ish lbs by following the Biggest Loser Diet. It was a good diet...but it was very structured which in my book is grounds for failure. I just know that I can stick with something for maybe a month...but I get bored and lazy after at about a month's time. I want to lose 15-20ish more lbs so I am going to make a list of things that I can do to achieve this goal.

1. Drink more water...less diet coke and coffee. I just won a Fiber One Giveaway that has a large water cup included. So everyday...I am going to drink one of those! UGHHH. I hate to even type that out. I love love love my Diet Coke.

2. Get more sleep...so that I will have more energy to exercise. I will be in bed by 11:00 p.m. ( we will see how this goes as that is blog time.)

3. I will start running in the morning's again. Starting tomorrow. (good thing my iphone is an ipod.) Music makes running a little easier. When I think I want to give up...I think to myself -- I will keep going until this song is over!! It works.

4. I will stop snacking on crackers and peanut butter when playing winster at midnight. This should be easy to accomplish as I will already be in bed! This may seem easy for you since it is just crackers...but they are my Kryptonite!! I have no trouble saying not to cheesecake or sweets, but if I bring cheese it's into the house...they are goners! I am not sure what it is about carbs...but I love them!!

5. I will eat breakfast...this is really important as it starts your metabolism after fasting while sleeping. I know that when I have a good breakfast I don't pig out at lunch. Can you say Kashi $1.50 Q's?

6. I will start snacking better between said breakfast, lunch and dinner.

OK that is all that I can think of -- starting weight 141 hopeful weight 120ish.

Kelly Mac Snack Attack
(this is one of my favorite recipes from the Biggest Loser Club)

11 almonds- seems stupid to count them out-- but trust me it's plenty!
1 table spoon chocolate chips
2 table spoon raisins

It's really good. I usually get smoked almonds and milk chocolate chips. It's filling with an apple!!

If you would like to join...please visit The CEO!!

While you are there don't forget to enter her giveaway for $10.00 Stop and Shop gift card!!
